Highlights:

  • Triumph introduces the Speed T4 as its most affordable model in the 400 cc range.
  • The T4 features a retuned 398 cc engine, delivering less power than its Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X counterparts.
  • The motorcycle comes with simplified hardware and distinct color options.

Hyderabad: Triumph has officially launched the Speed T4 in the Indian market, marking it as the most budget-friendly model within the Triumph 400 cc lineup. Priced at ₹2.17 lakh (ex-showroom), the Speed T4 is positioned as a cost-effective alternative to the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, featuring several modifications to reduce costs.

Design and Features:

The Triumph Speed T4 maintains the classic design elements of the Speed 400, including the round LED headlamp, a sculpted fuel tank, a single-piece seat, and alloy wheels. It also sports an analogue instrument cluster with an integrated LCD screen. However, the T4 distinguishes itself with unique color options: Metallic White, Cocktail Wine Red, and Phantom Black.

Notably, the Speed T4 omits the advanced traction control found in its more premium siblings. The front suspension, now more basic compared to the Speed 400’s gold-finished 43 mm USD forks, is a standard telescopic setup. The T4 also foregoes some of the Speed 400’s high-end features, including the gold accents on the front suspension.

Performance and Specifications:

The Speed T4’s engine is a retuned version of the 398 cc unit seen in the Speed 400, delivering less power. Despite these adjustments, the motorcycle retains the braking system of the Speed 400, featuring a 300 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. The rear end is supported by a monoshock setup, and it rides on 140-section rear and 110-section front tyres.

In summary, the Triumph Speed T4 offers a more accessible entry point into the 400 cc segment while preserving the essence of the Speed 400’s design and performance. This new model caters to riders seeking a cost-effective yet stylish and capable motorcycle.
