Recent Sightings at Off-Road Event

The upcoming KTM 390 Adventure has recently been spotted in action during an off-road competition in South Dakota. This appearance comes as anticipation builds for its official unveiling at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan next month. The bike was seen alongside the formidable 1390 Adventure R, indicating KTM’s focus on expanding its adventure lineup.

Enhanced Design Features

The updated 390 Adventure showcases a more aggressive and off-road-oriented design. Notably, it features a vertically stacked LED projector headlight, a tall windscreen, and a high stance, suggesting a potentially elevated seat height. The sharp side panels and raised beak-styled mudguard add to its rugged aesthetic, while a robust metal bash plate protects the engine from rough terrain.

Off-Road Capabilities

Equipped for adventure, the new 390 Adventure sports a large 21-inch spoked front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, both designed for dual-purpose tyres. Its suspension system includes a long-travel WP USD front fork and an offset monoshock at the rear, ensuring it can tackle challenging trails with ease.

Advanced Technology and Features

Expect a wealth of modern features on the new 390 Adventure. Riders will benefit from a TFT display, switchable traction control, multiple ride modes, and a quick-shifter, making it a versatile option for both on-road and off-road journeys. Additional touches include knuckle guards and a scooped, single-piece seat for enhanced comfort and control.

New Engine Specifications

Powering the 390 Adventure is anticipated to be the new 399 cc engine first seen in the KTM 390 Duke. This engine generates 45.3 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 39 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox that includes a bi-directional quick-shifter. For the adventure model, adjustments may be made to the final drive and gear ratios to optimize off-road performance.

Anticipation and Future Launch

As KTM prepares for its return to EICMA after a hiatus, the updated 390 Adventure is set to be one of the highlights of the show. Given that the current generation was launched in 2019, this thorough revision is well-timed. Following its debut in Milan, we expect the new model to be launched in India soon after, providing adventure enthusiasts with a fresh option in the market.
